The Commons will Change the Face of St. Edward High School
The Courage to Act Campaign's momentum continues as school architect DLR Group unveiled initial renderings of The Commons, one of the Campaign's two building projects. The Commons will be the first new building added to the campus in ten years and will include a state-of-the-art dining hall to serve our growing community.
The Commons will be a vastly improved gateway into the St. Ed's experience.
"We believe that the health of our young men is vital to their overall success in life," said President Jim Kubacki. "This Campaign is a way for us to facilitate that need and provide a welcoming and inclusive experience for our St. Edward community."
To date, just over $4.1 million has been gifted or pledged to The Commons, which is almost 60% of the funds needed to complete the project. Groundbreaking for the 15,000-square-foot facility is scheduled for spring 2019, with construction expected to be completed prior to the start of the 2020-2021 school year.
Included in the design will be a new school entrance and lobby to welcome and direct our many visitors to St. Ed's. With natural light, a mezzanine level and patio doors
to a plaza, The Commons will be the epicenter of our Holy Cross
hospitality and fulfill
St. Edward's need for a
large communal gathering place.
